Sulphur Crested Cockatoo

The Sulphur-crested Cockatoos are residents of Hamilton Island, along with other native birds, and frequently come to see the visitors, perching on the verandahs of the apartments or sitting watching the boats in the Marina.

Lovely capture of its crest. I was so amazed to see parrots flying free when I visited Australia. I had only seen them in pet shops and zoos before.

Thanks Esther. The birdlife is wonderful here. Photographing them is sometimes quite tricky :-) These cockatoos were used to people.
