Interesting to see these houses, John. They're quite unlike any here, apart from some details.

There's an Australian ABC video on YouTube, George, called "Why 25 degrees really is hot in the UK", which in part discusses how climate affects house design around the world. Land prices in Toronto also seem always to have been high, and the bay-and-gable design got a lot of floor space out of a small lot. These houses are on a big lot, but maybe this design was in part intended to maintain consistent style on the street.

I love this stunning architecture, John. There is colour contrast between blue and orange and and an analogous colour scheme between cyan and blue, which I find very effective. All the best, Joe

The shutters are probably not original, Joe, but I think they enhance the brick and the style, largely because of the colour contrasts you pointed out. And thanks for pointing it out. I understand what I'm seeing better now.
