Going to work in 2012

Going to work in 2012
Another crop of an old photo to 16 X 9 format. The things you find to amuse yourself with during a pandemic.

I like the bigger views. Type Z if a comparison interests you.

Gabi Lombardo, Sami Serola (inactive), Dimas Sequeira, Denis Croissant and 9 other people have particularly liked this photo

I liked it large. Nobody smiling. All concentrating on the day ahead.

They're still waking up, too, Jean. During the morning rush hour a lot of people are moving like zombies.

It looks very nice viewed large and you can see the detail in the shadow areas better. A moment frozen in time............everyone looks as if they're "just about" to do something!

I like the artwork at the top and the caged lamps on the walls are lovely.

Thanks, Keith. The lamps are a continuation of the lamps around the electricity substation you can just see on the right. It has a spectacular gate, too. The glass cage on the left is the entrance to a subway station.

A simpler, if not gentler, time. The structure of the picture is interesting - the domes and pseudo-domes hold it together quite well. But how did the "street artist" mnge to work so high up a wall?

Toronto taggers are intrepid, Bob -- unfortunately. This one is not especially impressive for Toronto -- again unfortunately. I've seen then higher up and done far more professionally. In Toronto most people seem to think that if you're any good with a spray can or an airbrush you can get work, and if you're not any good you shouldn't be doing it. Doesn't stop them, though.

Will it seem normal when we go back to it, though?

No, as far as I am concerned.

And there aren't many of those in Toronto, I can tell you, Denis.

They don't look totally awaken! Good capture, Berny!

Thanks, José. They aren't totally awake, in fact. Morning rush hour in Toronto is people yawning and stumbling around, bumping into each other and not noticing, stretching out on empty seats on the subway, and so on.
