It is an ordinary moment turned into an extraordinary image, the random convergence of a couple taking refreshment, a shaft of sunlight, a photographer, and a gesture. It would be impossible to repeat. Not even Hollywood could set this up convincingly. It is an opportunity taken, and on that basis alone it is a triumph.
