Beautiful lines in the roof. I bet that angel does a little flying round at night.

I wouldn't be surprised, Jean. The roof extends over the West Cast Court as well

Great and sober lines.
Tonality goes very well with this setup.
Happy weekend John.

Thanks, José:. This part of the building was designed by an engineer, and is both functional and graceful, as buildings designed by engineers often seem to me to be. Liverpool Street Station is another example in London of a beautiful building designed by an engineer. And then of course there's Santiago Calatrava.

The lights are like upside-down birds sitting on a fence.... With the lines and windows and arches this does have a very Victorian air about it.

This part of the builidng was designed by a very Victorian person, Bob, Col. Henry Young Darracott Scott of the Royal Engineers (later Major-General Scott). I hadn't seen the upside-down birds before, so thanks for pointing them out.

Very nicely composed and taken. When the Victorians didn't over-embellish they did some great buildings.

Thanks, George. That was the Victorians' great vice. What they did to St. Paul's Cathedral is unforgivable. When their stained windows were blown out by the Germans they were replaced with the plain windows Wren had designed. But there's still that mosaic in the nave,
