Very painterly shot - everything seems to be in one plane, which emphasized the structural aspects, with most of the color at the lower parts - lower right, reflected a bit in the car window (reflection or dangly geegaw.)

Thanks, Jose. Construction is slackening here, after ten years or so that have transformed the city. But much more of the city is still being transformed.

There's a lot going on in this shot.......verticals, horizontals, diagonals. I'm guessing it reflects the fact that there's always something going on in Toronto. Nice job John.

Thanks, Keith. All the construction is supplemented by roadwork, which is concentrated in the months when the ground isn't frozen.

I swear, Toronto wants to make it impossible to see the sky there...

On the rare occasions I leave Toronto, Will, the sky frightens me. It's weird.

In downtown and midtown if there aren't tall buildings there are trees overhead.

It's big.

So big, Steve, you can't shoot in much of Toronto early in the morning or in the evening -- either the sun hasn't penetrated to the streets yet or has abandoned them. On the other hand, all the glass buildings here help light up both sides of the street.

It's a false impression of size, too. Toronto has the highest density of tall buildings in North America, but its population density is puny.
