The trap of nostalgia
It reminds us of a past adorned only with good memories. It makes us regret living without the deceased when their presence, in the end, was not a feast every day. It makes us believe that today lacks what yesterday hardly provided.
I do not mean to praise the present or the future. I just want to rid them of the aura with which the declinists - usually on the extreme right - label them. The future belongs to us, despite appearances: it does not belong to the oracles who want to appropriate it, as they have done since they decreed that their democracy alone should rule and regulate the world (we see today what it gives, when we are just pretending to discover it....).
