lomography petzval test
Folder: experiments
Definitely a bit of a learning curve, but by the end of the day I was starting to get the hang of it. :) I was worried about the stops falling out, but they actually fit pretty snugly (and ignore the EXIF on these, they were all shot with the f2.2 plate in).

I wasn't sure what the dancer was going to do when I spotted her across the square, but whatever it was I thought it might make for an interesting star-aperture experiment. This one is pure magic: at full size every water droplet, every sequin on her costume, turns into a sparkly star. Very disney. :)

I wasn't sure what the dancer was going to do when I spotted her across the square, but whatever it was I thought it might make for an interesting star-aperture experiment. Here the effect is a bit much, even at small sizes; the stars in the leaves behind her dance partner's head are particularly problematic. (also, in real life her dance partner's head was not made of plastic...)

I wasn't sure what the dancer was going to do when I spotted her across the square, but whatever it was I thought it might make for an interesting star-aperture experiment. In this shot, the effect is very subtle: even at full-size, there aren't really any clear, sharp stars, everything's just a bit sparkly.
