are these beads? or are they vases? this is a spectacular colour and I have THE perfect dried flowers to put in it!

Vases - haven't measured them yet, I think this one's ~16", the purpley-grey one is a bit taller maybe? Didn't get to the beads last night, they're up next. :)

you seriously do glass work?? WOW so cool! I wondered by the name 'glass' but it could have been your last name...

ok whatever... Well I gotta say you do magnificent work! I can't imagine how you do this.. my sister in law does glass and she has this fairly big kiln, but she has never done anything like this...

Thanks! :) Does she mostly do fused glass, then? I haven't done a lot of that - i'm too much of a pyro to not be working directly with the fire of it. ;) These are furnace-blown - big furnace filled with molten glass, long thin steel blowpipes with glass bubbles on the end, dancing with fire...

I'll see if I can get some proper pics this weekend, all I've got are some random phonepics:

Using a wooden block (kept soaking in water) to shape a fresh "gather" - the initial bubble was cooled a bit, then dipped back into the furnace for more.

The same bubble, after a bit more shaping and blowing.

I also make beads, using a small torch (lampwork/flamework) :

But yeah, mostly I just like playing with fire. ;)

holy cow I am impressed even more now.. I knew a guy a long time ago that blew glass, he was amazing... and every now again he gave a piece to a girl I worked with (I think he had a crush on her) pyro tendencies eh? you aren't the only one..
and yes my SIL does fused glass, jewelry, plates, bowls art pieces etc.. she is awesome. She does beads too with a torch.
