Santa Rita, NM Chino Mine (# 0809)
A broader view of the mine. Per the operator (Freeport-McMoRan), there is a long history of mining ore at the site and open-pit mining started in 1910.
In this picture there’s three haul trucks heading up and to the right, and two (plus dust cloud from another) heading up to the left – each of those haul trucks is so large that a pickup looks like a toy. They’re also a good example of the problems with modern economics/employment – at some mines the haul trucks are now driverless, operated by a smaller number of technicians at computer screens.
