I had the poles erected for perspective :)

This is the Owens Valley which is on the east side of the Sierras where the valleys are basically high desert since the mountains take out most of the moisture. One thing that makes the Owens Valley spectacular is the long late afternoon shadows due to the height of the mountains on both sides.
