Lakeview OR sawmill (#0090)
Part of my curiosity about Lakeview was what there was about its economy that it managed to support a shortline railroad that connected with the BNSF line near Klamath Falls. It turns out part of the answer is lumber and sawdust from the lumber operations.

The landscape doesn't look like it'd be the kind of region to support a big logging industry. I wonder how far away the loggers are.

There's mountain ranges 50-100 miles in most directions with healthy forests. That distance seems a little long for being profitable, but then the number of sawmills have diminished.
