Snow in the San Jacinto Mountain Range, taken from the Palm Canyon Wash levee looking southwest. This is the third day of the first (Jan1x) predicted El Nino series storms. Fairly soon the levee will be tested strongly as snow buildup in the mountains begins to melt.

This is a really beautiful image.

What I could not capture was a subtle pinkish glow on the snow pack. It looked sort of like the California golden sunset being reflected back down on the snow.

Since the mountains block a lot of moisture, we'll probably be fine until the runoff starts. LA, SF, the coast and San Diego, though....
