Heart Mountain Interpretive (Relocation) Center WY hospital (#0564)

Heart Mountain Interpretive (Relocation) Center WY hospital (#0564)
Placard describing the hospital complex at Heart Mountain and the few buildings from it that remain. What's interesting on the placard is that doctors were internees while nurses were both Caucasian and internees. Doctors were paid $19 a month, internee nurses $16, but Caucasian nurses $150. As the placard describes, 566 babies were born at the center, all “...as American citizens behind a barbed wire fence erected by their own government.”
