Hamburg Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall (#2907)
A striking, and strikingly over-budget, concert hall/hotel/apartment complex/shopping mall, in the HafenCity redevelopment project. The people I talked with mentioned how much it was behind schedule and 10 times over-budget, but admitted it would be a dramatic addition to the harbor area.

Well, just 789.000.000 EUR instead of 77.000.000 but that's - well... as we say here... "peanuts". ;o)

Over budget by a factor of 10? Those are some big peanuts.

I don't care for this design. To me, this looks dated to an era 30 years before it was built, and structures like this rarely age well.
