Hamburg Sprinkenhof (#2978)

Hamburg Sprinkenhof (#2978)
The Sprinkenhof, immediately adjacent to Chilehaus and similar in color, but with far more exterior ornamentation and much larger in size. Per the UNESCO description of it, it was built in three phases from 1927 to 1943 with differences in the styles in each phase. The differences in style are, in part, because the original 3-person architectural team became a single architect when one died and the other was banned from building by the Nazi's “for reasons of race”. The UNESCO page provides much more detail on the design: whc.unesco.org/en/tentativelists/1367

The Wikipedia page on this, which is in German, has a helpful aerial view: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprinkenhof
