On the east side of the Central Valley, remnants of a railroad that once served the area. From what I could find, the railroad was the Southern Pacific and service in the area first began in 1888. I always find it hard to believe how extensive the railroad networks once were in the Central Valley, both for freight and for carrying passengers between towns.
