We had a similar hardware store in a storefront along one of the main road just a few blocks from us, but it shut down just last week after something like 80 years in business. I was really sad to see that one go, though the only reason I ever went there was to have keys made.

Almost every city I've lived in has had something familiar that I ended up using a lot because the people knew what you needed and I didn't mind spending a few cents more to get that. The True Value near me in Palm Springs is that way...
