The teens on the opposite side took off their shirts and then jumped the fence. From their actions it looked like they were going to try to go down into the wash, but luckily didn't. At the Palm Canyon Wash at CA-111 (E Palm Canyon), after a rain storm in the mountains.

I pulled some dumb moves when I was that age. Fortunately, nothing quite that dumb ... but close. It's a miracle that so many of us make it to middle age.

Swimming (with others) in abandoned and roped off quarries in Indiana (when I was in my late 20's) that were later found to have PCP-laden transformers having been dumped into them.

I was never much of a swimmer, though I did once sneak out with a cheap inflatable raft and try sailing in the Ohio River in the middle of the night. I used to play on railroad tracks, too, and try thinking of ways to scare train engineers. And I won't even begin to talk about all the things I pulled once I turned 16 and bought my own car.
