Hardwick’s Services NEN 952R in Scarborough – 21 Aug 1987 (55-28)

Friday 21 August 1987 – Hardwick’s Services was a subsidiary of Wallace Arnold Tours and for many years operated a service between Scarborough and Ebberston which after deregulation was extended further west to Pickering and Helmsley.

NEN 952R, a Leyland National 1 which was new to Lancashire United (Greater Manchester Buses) in February 1977, seen in Columbus Ravine, Scarborough. The Wallace Arnold garage was across the road on the left and had by this time become the terminal point for the service.

A few weeks later, on 5 October 1987, Wallace Arnold sold the Hardwick’s business to East Yorkshire Motor Services/Scarborough and District.
