Hardwick’s Services PNW 332W in Scarborough – 21 Aug 1987 (55-29)

Hardwick’s Services PNW 332W in Scarborough – 21 Aug 1987 (55-29)
Friday 21 August 1987 – Hardwick’s Services was a subsidiary of Wallace Arnold Tours and for many years operated a service between Scarborough and Ebberston which after deregulation was extended further west to Pickering and Helmsley.

PNW 332W, a Plaxton Supreme bodied Leyland Leopard originally new to the London based Wallace Arnold subsidiary Woburn Garage (Evan Evans Tours) in April 1981, was seen parked across the road from the Wallace Arnold garage in Columbus Ravine, Scarborough. Alongside is one of the open top double deckers which Wallace Arnold employed on Scarborough seafront services.

A few weeks later, on 5 October 1987, Wallace Arnold sold the Hardwick’s business to East Yorkshire Motor Services/Scarborough and District and this coach passed to the new owners to continue working the service to Pickering etc.
