Nottingham City Transport 383 (F383 GVO) and 386 (F386 GVO) at RAF Mildenhall – 29 May 1994 (226-03)
Sunday 29 May 1994 – These two vehicles, despite carrying East Lancs bodywork of the unique style favoured by Nottingham City Transport, were quite rare in that the chassis were Danish built Leyland-DAB Lions.

In 1986 NCT bought three Northern Counties bodied Lion (numbers 392-394) followed by a further ten bodied by East Lancs in 1988/1989 (numbered 382-391). The first five of that batch were fitted with coach type seating and carried a coach livery of two tone green and gold.
In this photograph 383 (F383 GVO) and 386 (F386 GVO) were seen at RAF Mildenhall attending the annual Air Fete.

In addition to the 13 Lions ordered by NCT there were 19 Alexander bodied examples ordered by the Scottish Bus Group. NCT later acquired five of those which had been operated by Chester City Transport which became Nottingham’s 395-399.
