USAF 85B 427 and 85B 426 at RAF Mildenhall – Jun 1988 (70-0)

June 1988 – Prior to the early 1980s USAF had operated American built buses at RAF Mildenhall and RAF Lakenheath. This policy changed and renewals were with European and locally built vehicles of similar types supplied to the British Ministry of Defence.

Two Reeve Burgess bodied buses (with chassis by Renault or Dodge I believe) are seen here parked in the motor pool compound at RAF Mildenhall. They date from 1985 and are registered 85B 427 and 85B 426. The latter carries a plate for work on the regular shuttle between the two air bases.
