Ipswich 38 (RGV 38W) - Dec 1984

December 1984 - Ipswich Borough Transport 38 (RGV 38W), an East Lancs bodied Leyland Atlantean AN68C/1R new in May 1981, seen at Tower Ramparts bus station working the ‘Southern Circular’ service 18. When the Orwell Bridge opened in December 1982 IBT began operating the circular service which was considered a useful link between the east and west banks of the river. The service didn’t prove a long term facility and was later phased out. It was very popular though as a sightseeing service in the early days with the public sampling a ride over this magnificent structure.
