Hebble coach in Rochdale - Early 1971

Hebble coach in Rochdale - Early 1971
Early 1971 – Such a poor photograph that it is impossible to make out the identity of this Hebble Motor Services Alexander Y type bodied AEC Reliance, see the time on Rochdale’s Town Hall clock or even make out much else for that matter. The scene is in Smith Street, Rochdale and the coach is just setting off for Leeds on service 28. In the main the service was usually operated by single decker buses rather than a coach so I imagine that is why I snapped the photo in haste. There are two former Rochdale Corporation Weymann bodied AEC Regent Vs on the left, one in the orange and white SELNEC livery and one in the former Rochdale cream and blue standing outside the Electric House. Also in the latter livery (on the right) is a Weymann bodied Daimler CVG6. The roadway behind the coach now houses the departure platforms for the Metrolink tram service.
