Cambridge Coach Services E361 NEG at Gatwick - 30 Sep 1990

Sunday 30 September 1990 - Cambridge Coach Services 361 (E361 NEG), a Plaxton Paramount bodied Volvo B10M new in 1988, was seen here at Gatwick Airport after working the 0945 hrs service 78 from Cambridge which would work the 1345 hrs service 79 back to Cambridge from Gatwick. In those halcyon days the Cambridge-Gatwick run was scheduled to take three hours. A driver kept the same coach and after a one hour break at the Airport returned back to Cambridge. In due course more time had to be allowed to cover the journey and upon arrival at Gatwick an incoming driver would hand over his coach to the driver that had arrived one hour earlier so that the coach kept on the go. The first driver would have a break in the terminal and then take over the next incoming coach for the return trip to Cambridge.
