Sunday 16 July 1989 (approx. 1445) – Sunday 30 April 1989 saw the launch, by National Express, of a brand of short haul services radiating from London marketed as ‘London’Express’. The livery featured green rather than blue used on the mainstream National Express coaches. Galloway European Coachlines of Mendlesham, Suffolk F886 SRT, was a Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodied DAF SB2305 new in April 1985 was seen at Stowmarket in Suffolk on what was service 872. It had arrived on the 1100 service from London (due 1435) and was returning on the 1445 departure back to the capital.
