The Katriva bus is 304116 (LKE 494), a Van Hool A120 bodied Volvo B10R-55 new in November 1986, which was working De Lijn service 745 from or to Roeselare . The Galloway coach is 5516 PP, a Van Hool Alizee bodied DAF SB3000, which was new to London Coaches (DV54) in April 1989 registered F524 RJX. London Coaches was the coaching unit of London Buses at that time.

Wednesday is market day in Bury St Edmunds and service 320 operates from the unusually named town of Eye at 0930 returning from Bury at 1325, a 70 minute journey via quite a number of different villages.

It was seen backing off the loading stand in Bury St Edmunds bus station bound for Stowmarket on the 1330 service 385 an infrequent variant of the main 384 service serving Norton and Old Newton rather than Beyton. It must have been running late.
