Midland Red West 1010 (EAH 890Y) at Red Lodge - 3 Sep 1988

Midland Red West 1010 (EAH 890Y) at Red Lodge - 3 Sep 1988
Saturday 3 September 1988 – Midland Red West 1010 (EAH 890Y) had been new to the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company in February 1983 and at the time carried the ‘Norfolk Flyer’ livery for operation on National Express service 099 between Norwich and London. As a result of the success of that service an exchange of vehicles between Midland Red and Ambassador Travel (Anglia) Limited (as the express services of ECOC had become) resulted in MCW Metroliners being exchanged for the Leyland Tigers. It was seen passing through Red Lodge when working a Saturday holiday service from the West Midlands to the Norfolk Coast. No stranger to this road the ‘Norfolk Flyer’ service passed this way also.
