274/03 Premier Travel Services RVE 296S - Sat 17 August 1985 (Ref 25-06)

Saturday 17 August 1989 - Premier Travel Services 274 (RVE 296S), a Plaxton Supreme bodied AEC Reliance new in 1978, seen during the refreshment stop at Spalding (1552-1615) when working the 1415 Skegness to Haverhill service 3. Today I was entrusted to work the service all by myself and was rather pleased to be the ‘service man’. I had carried 37 passengers up to Skegness and 29 on the way back. Service 3. Service 3 to Skegness had its origins as the first coach service licenced to Undergraduate Roadways, the company established by Arthur Lainson and his fellow university students in the early 1930s. Mr. Lainson established Premier Travel after leaving university and the Skegness service formed the basis of this new venture. (Ref 25-06)
