The balcony fence from the painter's house - HFF
The "Beucheresse" Gate is the birthplace of the painter Henri Rousseau, known as the "Douanier Rousseau". It is the only remaining gateway of the former five. The medieval town was surrounded by ramparts from the 13th century onwards, and several sections can still be seen today (see PiP).

La ville médiévale est entourée de remparts à partir du 13ème siècle, aujourd'hui en peut encore voir plusieurs portions.
DAS BALKONGELÄNDER VOM HAUS DES MALERS. Das Tor "Beucheresse" ist der Geburtsort des Malers Henri Rousseau, der als "Douanier Rousseau" bekannt wurde. Es ist das einzige, das von den einst fünf Toren übrig geblieben ist. Die mittelalterliche Stadt wurde ab dem 13. Jh. von einer Stadtmauer umgeben, von der heute noch einige Abschnitte zu sehen sind (siehe PiP).

Derzeit ist mein Gedächtnis trotz fortgeschrittenen Alters noch gut und ich bin froh drum. Also nicht unbedingt um das fortgeschrittene Alter, ich hätte nix dagegen 30 Jahre jünger zu sein, aber um mein gutes Gedächtnis. Immerhin ein kleiner Trost ;-))
