IT FEELS LIKE IRELAND .. with these dry stone walls.

It sinders space in biggins intae rooms or pertects or picturs a space in the appen air. It is for ordinar makkit oot o stane or brick. Waws hae twa main ettles: tae haud up the tap pairt o biggins, an for tae sinder space, giein pertection frae invasion an wather." Est-ce écossais ? Bon weekend, Joe.

Tu as raison, Christa, «waw» en écossais est «wall» en anglais. Dans la région d'Aberdeen, on dit «waa». MDR. Amitiés, Joe

Christa1004 club has replied to Dimas Sequeira club
Merci Dimas. Bon weekend.

A lovely rural image Christa, the style of the stone wall varies around the the country sadly due to the cost a lot of them all not being maintained . I hope you are having a HFF and that your weekend is a nice one
3 years ago.
Christa1004 club has replied to Peter Castell club
Thanks Peter. Yes, it's a pity when the farmers have neither the time nor the money to maintain these pretty stone walls which are part of the heritage. Enjoy your weekend, hopefully with a lot of sun.

Hi Christa

A very nice picture, which I really like

Fantastic colours

It is very interesting that this reminds you of Ireland!
In Wales we also have dry stone walls..
www.ipernity.com/doc/2247998/43620328 & www.ipernity.com/doc/2247998/44029656

Also a lot of similarities between the Welsh language and French language..

eg la fenêtre - ffenestr or Le pont - pont

Dry stone walls remind me so much of Wales!!

Best Wishes, HFF, a nice weekend, and stay safe!!
Peter

Christa1004 club has replied to Peter_Private_Box club
Thanks Peter, I guess that actually Ireland is not the only country, in Scotland as well and in England in the Yorkshire Dales - not to forget the fantastic Inca wall of dry stone construction in Cusco, Peru.
It's interesting what you said about the Welsh language, probably the similar words are in Romano-Celtic origin?
Keep well and enjoy your weekend.

Hi Christa

It is a very beautiful composition!
The dry stone walls looks so nice!
Yes it is possible to see them in many places ...
But I don't think the two walls are same, which Peter sent.. Different stones and different tecnics..

Thanks Fürun, it seems that each country has its own way of building dry stone walls. I think the most impressing is in Peru nearby Cusco, one of the oldest ancient buildings on the planet, it's just amazing... Have a nice week.

Thanks Carol, I also like them very much. In my region we don't see them often in the fields, here the boundaries are made by hedges and by levees of earth planted with trees. Have a nice week ahead.
