A timely reminder of the futility of war. VE day (Victory in Europe) 75 years ago was wildly celebrated, but at what cost. We will never forget.

I was a small child on VE day. To me a war was normal. My parents home was destroyed by a bomb when I was too young to remember. We lived in a hut in the country until the war ended. But I was lucky. My father worked in the shipyards and wasn't away fighting and I was happy. But I have never forgotten the newsreels I saw as a child and the death and suffering.

Three wonderful picture dear Christien. How beautifully kept the graves are.
My father lost his brother right at the end of the war in Burma. He was never found.
