The glimpse of the Applecross Peninsula reminds me of the first time we went up over the Applecross Pass, a steep climb that in places then had no crash barriers and scared the life out of me. I have no head for heights and the road climbs to 2054 ft or 626 metres. I spent most of the time almist sitting on my husband's lap away from the edge!!

Thank you very much Herb, - and I am pleased it brought back memories. When we first went up over the Applecross Pass I was terrified of the drops and my knuckles were gripped tight until we arrived. Relief at getting there quickly turned to anxiety when I realised the long way around would get us back to the cottage too late and we had to do it all over again.

We hope to go back to Skye. I would like a look at Rona, but I am not sure I would want to stay there. I like peace and quiet but with only 2 permanent residents and 4 cottages - 3 of which are available as holiday cottages, - it would be a bit too quiet for me!

Oh, one of your fantastic, gorgeous skies, Carol!!! I absolutely love how the skylines of the distant islands seem to burst out of the water and work themselves into the cloud pattern in the sky. Beautiful color contrast and a very harmonious balance of land, sea and sky.
