A majestic river Doug! Very nice framing from this angle. I read that there are no less than 4 River Derwents in England. I looked it up as I could remember a river of that name in the Peak district. It also said it is in no hurry to reach the sea :)

All the best, Rosa.

Our Derwent rises on Fylingdales Moor about 9 miles from my house. It flows off the moor onto the flat land of Pickering Vale so it also is in no hurry to reach the sea! Thanks so much for your visit and kind comment Rosa.

Reading your comment for Rosa makes me want to follow this river...I live about 200 meters from a weir in the river Rezat...that´s dry now because of the missing rain and the heat of the last weeks...so it´s a pleasure to see this one!

Thanks very much for your visit and interest Tanja. I have never seen this river dry up, although last summer it did get quite low further upstream around our village.

Have a good day, Doug

Good vantage point Doug, there is a good sense of movement captured in the water and looking on to a charming rural scene.

To be honest Maruice this is about the only vantage point near the weir, the rest of the area is rather overgrown or, as with the other bank, private land. Thanks very much for your kind comments.

Thanks very much for the visit and kind comment Simon. The 'bridge' is in fact a sluice and the building probable a control room for it.
