Gut getarnt: Großer Blaupfeil - Well camouflaged: Black-tailed skimmer

High in a Franconian vineyard, but relatively far from the river Main, I found numerous dragonflies of the species black-tailed skimmer (Orthetrum cancellatum). It is puzzling to me what these insects were looking for in a habitat that is untypical for them. Based on the intense blue colouration, the photo is most probably of a male. A female animal is shown in my photo: black tailed skimmer.
