Keine Angst vor Wanzen! Don't be afraid of bugs!

Bed bugs do not have a good reputation, and rightly so, because as parasites of humans they can transmit diseases or, in the best case, are simply annoying like mosquito bites. The vegetarian plant bugs are different, in the picture probably an Acanthosoma haemorrhoidale, whose colouring varies depending on the season. These bugs suck plant juices and can thus also damage plants. When clumsily touched, they secrete a foul-smelling secretion as a defence.
