Der grüne See - The green pond

Immer wieder wandere ich mit meiner Frau an diesem Fischweiher im Retztal vorbei, der das ganze Jahr hindurch diese auffällige lindgrüne Farbe aufweist. Ob die Farbe durch Mineralstoffe im Wasser oder durch Algen hervorgerufen wird, ist nicht bekannt. Auf jeden Fall ein Augenschmaus.

Occasionally I walk with my wife alongside this fish pond in the valley of the river Retz, which has this striking lime green colour all year round. Whether the colour is caused by minerals in the water or by algae is not known. In any case it is a feast for the eyes.
