Ein Märchenschloss im Spessart - A Fairytale Castle in the Spessart

The moated castle Mespelbrunn was built in 1412 in Renaissance style and celebrated its 600th anniversary in 2012. It became known, among other things, as the location for the feature film "Wirtshaus im Spessart" with Liselotte Pulver and Carlos Thompson and as the setting for the theatre play of the same name. Due to its hidden location in the forests of the Spessart, the castle survived all wars unscathed and has been preserved in its original form. Mespelbrunn Palace is still in private hands today. Since the beginning of the 1950s, the owners have been committed to preserving the castle as a monument and at the same time making it accessible to the general public. A visit there is really worthwhile. Years ago, I had already uploaded the picture as a colour picture at Ipernity, here now a b/w-editing.
