Der heiße Atem der Erde - The hot breath of the earth
Dear Iperians, yesterday I returned from a trip to Iceland. My wife and I hiked in South Iceland through fascinating landscapes with impressive volcanoes, roaring waterfalls and gigantic glaciers. We also enjoyed the friendliness of the Icelanders. During the whole travel time of ten days we had very good weather without cold or rain. In the next weeks I will show again and again pictures of this "island of fire and ice" and try to take you through this great country.
In the picture a geothermal area typical for Iceland, where hot water vapour escapes everywhere from crevices in the earth. The photo was taken next to the active geyser Strokkur, which emits explosively water vapour at regular intervals.
