Bei Ponta dos Mosteiros, im Nordwesten der Insel São Miguel. Dieser Küstenabschnitt mit der dunklen, scharfkantige Lava zeigt deutlich, dass die Insel vulkanischen Ursprungs ist.

Hier entstand auch ein Naturschwimmbecken. Die Brandung ist meistens so stark, dass es kaum genutzt werden kann.
