nickel under demoliton - 13 end

nickel under demoliton - 13 end
A final photo of the abandoned nickel plant "Punta Gorda" near Moa. I just found another photo which I made in 2011, an overview from the distance, when we only passed the area (see PiP). Soon all will be gone and history. Maybe the chimneys will survive like it happens with most of all sugar mills.

Bedeutet doch, dass Du mindestens noch einmal hinfahren musst, wenn nur noch der Kamin steht.

A great series, Berny. Do you know if the plant was operating when you took the wider image in 2011?

No, George. The left, nearer factory with 4 chimneys is the abandoned one, which I explored this year and it has been closed in 1992. The factory in the background is still in operation and you can see it closer in the next images.
