Museo Municipal Emilio Bacardí Moreau

One of the beautifully restored buildings in the old town of Santiago de Cuba is the "Museo Municipal Emilio Bacardí Moreau". Founded in 1899 by the rum-magnate, war hero and city mayor, Emilio Bacardí y Moreau, the museum is one of Cuba's oldest and most eclectic, with a striking collection of Cuban paintings and some absorbing artifacts amassed from Bacardí's travels.

Mist! Jetzt, wo ich das sehe, kommt mir in den Sinn, dass ich da auch noch rein wollte! Als wir davor standen, war es schon Abend und wir dachten, wir gängen am nächsten Tag rein .-))

Waren auch nicht drin. Jetzt war ich insgesamt 4x in Santiago und nie habe ich es geschafft! Das Problem bei diesen Museen ist halt immer, dass sie sehr viel Zeit kosten, wenn man nicht nur durchlaufen will. Bin außerdem mehr der Herumstreuner als der Museumstyp.

Keine Angst, es gibt schon auch ganz wenige noch nicht restaurierte Gebäude in Kuba, ich glaube hie und da habe ich zufällig eines fotografiert ;-))
