Built by "Motorenwerke Zschopau" in the Saxon town Zschopau and the village Hohndorf. The factory was producing motorcycles from 1922 to 2016. Many MZ's are on the roads of Cuba.

Nostalgie pur !
Mit so 'nem Ding hatte ich in jugendlich unbedarftem Alter als Mitfahrerin meinen 1. und zugleich schwersten Verkehrsunfall - im Sturz über Fahrer und Lenker weg, direkt auf die Fresse ... kleine Narbe im Gesicht erinnert mich immer mal wieder daran.

Oje, oje, glücklicherweise gut überstanden! Das ganz gleiche passierte auch meiner Beifahrerin, als ich einen VW-Käfer mit meiner ersten BMW rammte, der die Vorfahrt missachtet hatte. Sie flog über mich und den VW drüber und trotzdem fast nichts passiert, unglaublich.

Die Gummielemente sind Original um Vibrationen zu minimieren. Die muss man mit Gummihammer anbringen. Die Katzenaugen habe ich früher auch manchmal gesehen, nicht sehr schön aber vielleicht sinnvoll auf Cuba. Ansonsten 99 Prozent DDR - Ausführung ETZ 251. Der grüne Tank dahinter gehört zur Vorgängermaschine ETZ 250, von der hab ich grad ein vergammeltes Exemplar für 500 € erstanden. Sie werden immer teurer. Gute Simson S51 kosten inzwischen 4000 € und werden gern gefahren bei der Jugend Ostdeutschlands.

Und jetzt ein Hammereigenbauteil ;-)
