nuclear idyll
Nuclear power station Dungeness at sunset, behind the beautiful old lighthouse.
Technical data: A pair of power stations, "Dungeness A" with 438 MW ceased operation in 2006, "Dungeness B" is an advanced gas-cooled reactor (AGR) power station consisting of two 615 MW reactors (in total 1230 MW) and still in operation.
Moral data: The current use of nuclear power is one of the most perverted actions of humans, concerning many unsolved safety issues and no safe permanent disposal. We take infinite growth of standard of live and energy consumption as granted, an extreme selfish thinking.
If you built a small private house, you have to guarantee a proper disposal of your construction waste to get a permission. Operators of nuclear power plants don't need such rules. They earn a lot of money during operation, but afterwards the general public has to deal with the waste for 1000s of years.
