Ramsgate Lighthouse

Sorry, title and image description come late, because the photo appeared not until hours after the upload(?). This is the Ramsgate Lighthouse, established 1783, the current one built in 1842, designed by famous John Smeaton. It stands at the very end of South Breakwater. A Latin inscription around the gallery reads 'PERFUGIUM : MISERIS', which roughly translates to 'Refuge for the unfortunate'!
