The cathedral of St. Domnius is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic archbishopric Split-Makarska. It can be found in the Diocletian's Palace on the Peristyle Square. Built in the 4th century, it was dedicated to St. Domnius and is one of the oldest cathedrals of the Catholic Church. The present cathedral of Split was originally built as a mausoleum of emperor Diocletian, ithas the shape of an octagon The bell tower is one of the best preserved on the whole Adriatic coast and with its six floors it reaches a height of about 60 meters, making it also one of the highest buildings of medieval Dalmatia. The construction lasted from the 13th to the middle of the 16th century. Due to the long construction period, the building consists of Romanesque and Gothic style elements.

The Square of the People (Narodni Trg Pjaca) in Split dates back to the 15th century and offers many interesting Renaissance, Venetian and Gothic buildings built by the nobility. The square is dominated by a Romanesque clock with the remains of a medieval sundial in front of a larger, older bell tower and houses numerous shops and cafés.

Split an important port city, seat of the Catholic archdiocese Split-Makarska, in the city there is also a university. Its origins can be traced back to the Diocletian's Palace. The city centre of Split, together with the Diocletian's Palace, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979. The Republic Square or Prokurativa Square This place was created according to the St.Markus place in Venice. The place is open only to the south side and offers a nice view to the harbour and the promenade. The construction of the Prokurativa was initiated in the middle of the 19th century. The colonnades remind of the Venetians, the reliefs above the windows show the influences of antiquity and the Renaissance. The square is a great stage for cultural events, the local bars and restaurants made it a popular place for the citizens of Split.

Cathedral of Trogir The cathedral of Saint Laurentius is one of the most famous monuments in Trogir. The cathedral is built on a square with a great tradition. Exactly in this place stood in ancient times the temple of the goddess Hera, as well as the Agora which dates back to the time when Trogir was still a Greek settlement. The construction of the cathedral lasted from the 13th to the 16th century. It belongs to the UNESCO world cultural heritage and is one of the most important buildings in the Romanesque-Gothic style in Croatia.

Trogir has a 2300 year old urban tradition. The culture is influenced by Greeks, Romans and Venetians. There are numerous palaces, churches and towers and a fortress on the small island. Trogir houses the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex on the Adriatic, as well as throughout Central Europe.

After a last boat trip we reached Trogir the final stop of the sailing pleasure. Trogir is a historical town and port on the Adriatic coast of Croatia. The historic town of Trogir lies on a small island between the Croatian mainland and the island of Čiovo. Since 1997 the historical centre of Trogir has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its Venetian architecture.
