English title: "The Transfiguration of Hunger"

English title: "The Transfiguration of Hunger"
"A Transfiguração da Fome" (The Transfiguration of Hunger) is nothing more than the transfiguration of the self, the places and moments identifying the self, and its relationship with the other, and the world. In this case, a wide world, West and East, diverse cultures with a common sensibilities tangent.

Sometimes Sara's metaphors are surreal but clever enough not to get lost into abstraction. In fact, the author says that she is situated between "insomnia and Cesariny" (*). Well, from this balance are born frequent poems of great formal beauty and significance. For example:

SEA

the continuous gaze of the waves
lands on the thought.
we dedicate too much time
swinging between lives,
hatreds carved into the vertebra,
feet on earthquake
waiting for the salt of the last supper.
it's in the confines of the shells
that I hide age
and the diffuse deaths,
the extreme movement of the arrow
in the flesh destruction.
sounds open up in archipelagos,
stumble over vocabulary.
hours and hours spent
in the indisputable shape of seagulls.
sheets of sand entertain
the loneliness.

(*) Mário Cesariny (1923-2006), poet and painter, is considered the most important representative of the Portuguese Surrealism

///

MAR

o olhar contínuo das ondas
pousa no pensamento.
dedicamos demasiado tempo
a balouçar entre vidas,
ódios esculpidos na vértebra,
os pés em terramoto
esperando o sal da última ceia.
é nos confins das conchas
que escondo a idade
e as mortes difusas,
o movimento extremo da flecha
na destruição da carne.
os sons abrem-se em arquipélagos,
tropeçam no vocabulário,
horas e horas passadas
na indiscutível forma das gaivotas.
os lençóis de areia distraem
a solidão.
