Zu Ehren der Dover Patrol, einem britischen Royal-Navy-Kommando im Ersten Weltkrieg, das in Dover und Dünkirchen stationiert war um ein Eindringen deutscher Seestreitkräfte in den Ärmelkanal zu verhindern.

Eines von Dreien - Zwei identische Obeliske stehen einmal in Dover und das andere am Cap Blanc-Nez. Ein weiteres Denkmal steht in New York in der Nähe der "Narrows", der Verbindung zwischen Upper und Lower Bay.
