Noctuidae, Nolinae - Wingspan: 30mm.
A widespread species usually found in southern Europe and Africa. A single specimen arrived at our trap on the 19th.
EsG39 Callopistria latreillei

Noctuidae, Eriopinae - Wingspan: 31mm.
A single specimen came to our trap on the 19th. Unfortunately, light reflections from scales have tended to mask the markings on its wings, but the wide dark bar across the centre of the forewings, together with the buff "tooth-marks" in the dark areas near the wing-tips are a good identification aid.

One of this species alighted on the track by the villa, and seemed content to stay for its photograph to be taken. Unfortunately it doesn't, at this time, show it's orange hind wings and the prominently tufted abdomen, relying on the cryptic fore wings to make it blend in with its surroundings.
